The other day I sat down with the kids and read them books. At the end of one of them it had directions and a recipe for Magic Monkey Bananas (or something like that). So we made them. Here's the event, nicely documented for you all to see. It's not hard: bananas, chocolate and sprinkles. Yes we had to each have our own set of sprinkles and the chocolate on the faces, well you have to taste the chocolate!
And the book that was our inspiration:
The bananas weren't bad, they weren't particularly great. We used M&M's for the chocolate because that was on hand, so they didn't melt as well as chocolate chips. The chocolate was good. I think the kids would have enjoyed them more if we had just done the chocolate and sprinkles fondue style. That's my recommendation for next time. And we would probably use other fruit as well (our picky eater doesn't like bananas currently). The book was really fun and cute.
